This internal guide describes which stories and events should be featured on the front page of uib.no.
The front page consists of two news sections, “Featured Research” and “Featured”, as well as a calendar section for selected events. The goal is to showcase the breadth and relevance of UiB, tailored to user needs.
1. Featured Research
This section publishes research communication from UiB. The content should showcase UiB as a research institution and be aimed at external target audiences. This can include stories about new research from UiB and stories where UiB researchers comment on current topics.
The content should have a clear main point, good language, and a high-quality image. Articles must match the language of the front page (either Norwegian or English).
Timely stories are prioritized.
2. Featured
This section publishes news about UiB as an institution. This applies to stories that highlight UiB’s societal mission and activities. This can include stories about education and student life, the organization, campus development, strategic initiatives, research project funding, awards, and appointments.
The content should be aimed at external target audiences. Internal announcements and operational information do not belong here.
The content should have a clear main point, good language, and a high-quality image. Articles must match the language of the front page (either Norwegian or English).
Timely stories are prioritized.
3. Events
This section shows a selection of events that are open to an external audience and that have a clear connection to UiB. This can include, for example, lectures, panel discussions, launches, festivals, and conferences. The content must have clear text, a clear description, and a high-quality main image.
To be featured, events must be upcoming and timely.
Internal meetings and courses, closed events, doctoral defenses, and trial lectures are not featured on the front page.
